莎拉（伊丽莎白·奥尔森 Elizabeth Olsen 饰）和父亲来到了空置已久的湖边小屋，因为这里即将被出售给他人，所以父女两人决定先过来把卫生给打扫打扫，也算是一种告别的仪式。时间一分一秒的流逝着，夜幕渐渐降临，黑暗和静谧笼罩着湖面，亦覆盖了小屋。 一声异响之后，萨拉呼唤父亲的名字，却得不到回应，她搜寻整个小屋，却发现父亲竟然从这件屋子里凭空消失了。夜越来越深，恐惧慢慢充斥了萨拉脆弱的心灵，在这个完全与外界隔绝的小屋周围，很显然潜伏着一些莫名而未知的危险。如今，萨拉只能靠自己的力量，走出这间小屋，然而，当她每迈出一步时，她离这间小屋的秘密就更近了一步。This movie is about Sarah as she and her dad go to their lakeside retreat to pack things up inside because it is being sold. While there, her uncle also helps get the place up to scratch so they can sell it. The uncle has to leave to get an electrician to check the wiring, but after he goes she starts hearing noises and seeing what she thinks are people inside the house. Soon she and her dad are attacked by someone or something and they end up in a fight for their lives. But there's something more going on here than she thinks.
