影片通过三位主人公——知识分子和投机商马高、他的朋友黑仔、他们共同的爱人娜塔莉——传奇般的人生展现了导演对南斯拉夫这个民族的理解与复杂情感。The story follows an underground weapons manufacturer in Belgrade during WWII and evolves into fairly surreal situations. A black marketeer who smuggles the weapons to partisans doesn't mention to the workers that the war is over, and they keep producing. Years later, they break out of their underground "shelter" --- only to convince themselves that the war is still going on.
