在犯罪日趋多元化的今天，与之形成鲜明对比的是持续下降的逮捕率。为此，警视厅尝试引进民间调查员，使原则上被禁止的潜入调查成为可能。前搜查一课的刑警织部透（松田翔太 饰）拥有如照相机一般的超强记忆力和自如变换声线的能力。两年前因某起事件退职后，织部受雇于柳田所长（伊东四朗 饰）开设的侦探事务所。该事务所时常接受警视厅刑事部长岸森（远藤宪一 饰）的委托展开调查，而凭借自身卓越能力被称作“蜥蜴”的织部，成为该事务所乃至岸森最为得力的战将。 某日，鲁莽率真的望月香里（莲佛美沙子 饰）成为蜥蜴的助手。两个性格截然相反的侦探搭档，一次次潜入受调查对象的内部，揭开各种事件背后的真相……Arrest rates for the police have dropped significantly. Believing this calls for desperate measures they have against the rules begun to hire a private detective for cases which require undercover work: Toru Oribe, nicknamed Tokage (the Lizard). Unsociable yet brilliant, Tokage is a former cop whose leaving the force is one of the main reasons why arrest rates have dropped, and he smoothly infiltrates criminal circles by taking on various identities. However, his former colleagues treat him with suspicion and resentment over a case two years ago, when he supposedly left his partner to die.
