Plot Summary:Hiroshi has his wedding party in Tokyo. His sister (played by Hara) is of course attending. She is a contemporary lass and a skilled worker in Osaka however and is late for the party. She arrives wearing a hat, which is deemed improper or disrespectful. The bride's family, especially her mother and grandmother, dislike her. The bride's family are pharmacologists and well off. They are also arrogant as a result. Moreover, they are also set off because the party was not as glamourous or lavish as they had wanted as it is no longer is de rigueur to have grand parties. The bride is happy with her new sister-in-law however.
見合い結婚をした銀行員･原田浩と下町育ちの春枝。だが浩の妹･昌子は、一度の見合いで結婚を決めた兄の感覚に理解しがたいものを感じていた。一方、春枝の母や祖母は、原田家の家風に早くも違和感を持ち始める。ところが、当の浩と春枝はそんな周囲の心配をよそに幸福な結婚生活にひたっていて……。 在大阪工作的原田昌子（原节子）为了去东京参加哥哥（高田稔）的婚礼，特地请了一星期的假，结果由于事故迟到。新郎一方列席人数寥寥，令新娘春枝（山田五十铃）的母亲（英百合子）相当不满。而昌子也觉得只是相亲见过一面便定下婚事的哥哥太过草率，和蜜月归来的春枝深谈之后，终于打消误解。随后全家人努力劝说，解开婆婆的心结。一个星期的假期结束，昌子正要返回大阪，哥哥的朋友加纳鼓起勇气开口向她求婚……
