Plot Summary:In a tavern in Nuremberg, the young poet Hoffmann recounts his three unfortunate love stories to his friend Nicklausse. The Tales of Hoffmann, here in the fairy production of Giancarlo del Monaco, illustrates the Romantic quest of an idealized Love that should be transcended in the research of an artistic absolute. Aquilles Machado embodies brilliantly the main character of this fantastic opera.
