Plot Summary:General Dourakine sets off on a long journey to Russia where he owns very valuable properties, accompanied by the Derigny family.There he meets Madame Papofski ,a wicked woman whose greatest pleasure is to have her Mujiks flogged.As the general's niece,she is very interested in her uncle's legacy.However,Dourakine has another relative , the sweet beautiful Natasha.He wants to take her back to France after plotting Madame Papofski 's ruin .Their return to France will be eventful , they will meet a prince escaped from a chain gang who later will marry Natasha in France.
