Plot Summary:In the second part of a biographical story, a man is released from jail and forges ahead with the business of religion. Then one day he meets a nineteen-year-old who asks him many questions and reminds him of his own younger days. The younger man converts to the older man's religion. His business finds followers, but there is not enough passion or curiosity amidst the followers. A problem arises soon. A female follower wants to divorce her yakuza husband and things become rough.
創価学会の誕生を描いた「人間革命」の続編。創価学会を大きくしようと努力を続けていた戸田は、勉強会で熱心に戸田の話を聞いていた山本伸一を経営する正学館に採用、『少年日本』の編集長に抜擢する。しかし、事業はうまくいかず、営業停止になってしまう。会員でヤクザの組長である島谷が資金援助を申し込むが、戸田は断る。数日後、島谷は抗争により死亡してしまい、そのことがもとで、戸田は宗教の道に専心することを決意するのだった。
