Plot Summary:Benito Freire is a peddler who lives miserably in an environment dominated by ignorance and superstition. He is dedicated to peddling by the Galician towns and suffers severe attacks of epilepsy. Through the region begins to spread the rumor that he is a werewolf and that he is possessed by a demonic spirit. And it will be precisely the stories that people are telling about him what start to make him go crazy.
贝尼托•弗莱雷（由José Luis López Vázquez饰演）是加利西亚地区（位于西班牙西北部）的一位商贩，同时也干些杂活，如给人带路、传递书信。但不为人所知的是，这位外表老实、忠诚的小贩，却是传说中吸血的狼人。不幸就这么发生了…… 本片改编自Carlos Martínez-Barbeito的同名小说，系由发生于19世纪中叶的真实历史事件改编而来。作品虽然以狼人故事为蓝本，却不走惊悚之路，而高举现实主义的大旗。影片获得了当年（1970）西班牙巴利亚多利德（Valladolid）国际电影节的San Gregorio奖。
