Plot Summary:The film describes the lives of five refugees in Lebanon. One of them, Mohammad from Darfur, finds his three brothers and three of his sisters killed, his mother moments away from death. He decides to flee the conflict in Sudan and make his way to Lebanon, where he becomes one of the 9,000 non-Palestinian refugees and asylum seekers being cared for by UNHCR.
"Not Who We Are" portrays the lives of five women refugees, from different socio-educational backgrounds. In Lebanon they struggle against life’s daily brutality and try to rebuild lives shattered by war. They provide us with a glimpse into their daily hardships as well as their strength, resilience and survival instinct.
