Plot Summary:In the sequel to the 2018 movie months have passed since the major case involving a serial murderer. The matter has not been resolved it seems because a corpse is uncovered in the vicinity as the old case. When the detective assigned is seeking answers he does not look to the outside, but to the inside of a prison cell.
以黑长发女性为目标的连续杀人事件解决数月后，在同一事件现场又发现了新的身份不明的尸体。过去受过创伤的刑警·加贺谷学（千叶雄大）为了探究真相，前往自己曾经逮捕过的连续杀人狂·浦野善治（成田凌）那里。“是你杀的吗?” 面对加贺谷的询问，狱中的浦野透露了自己尊为老师的“M”这个神秘人物的存在。不久，加贺谷得知恋人松田美乃里（白石麻衣）被神秘男子盯上后做出了痛苦的选择，于是决定委托浦野协助调查……
