Plot Summary:If you like characters whose names begin with 'M' you would love this film. Literary editor Mamoru Miyamoto and author Masao Muraoka are friends. Masao Muraoka's last novel, Aki No Riyuu, was written a while ago as he has physiological and psychological problems. Communication is conducted through writing and the men stay close, ostensibly because the editor wants the writer's next work, but also because Masao's wife Misaki appeals to the editor. Miku, on the other hand, is a fan of the aforementioned novel and relates to Masao's work in another way.
編集者・宮本守（伊藤洋三郎）の友人である作家・村岡正夫（佐野和宏）は、代表作「秋の理由」以降作品を発表しておらず、精神的な問題で声が出なくなっていた。彼の才能を見込んでいる宮本は村岡の新作を出したいと思う一方で、村岡の妻・美咲（寺島しのぶ）にひそかに思いを寄せている。そんな宮本と村岡の前に、ある日「秋の理由」の読者で、同作のヒロインに似たミク（趣里）が現われ……。
