Plot Summary:This historical film is based upon the lives of several dance hostesses in Shanghai from 1948 to 1956. During that time, political power was slowly changing hands. As the rise of Communist Party, people's lives changed forever. Communism had an insane plan to make a new kind of human beings. Everyone in China had to make choices that ultimately decide their fate. When women started to wear Mao outfits instead of Cheongsams, the Mao era began.
