Plot Summary:Paul Cox is an elegant and successful antiques dealer. One day, completely unexpectedly, Anette Dumont appears at his door, but wants to speak to the former owner of the flat, the lawyer Wallings, to collect her shares. Since Cox cannot help her, she turns to private detective Alfons Kraczyk, a member of a criminal gang, who is himself after her shares and accuses Cox of having sold the shares long ago. Now Cox intervenes in the events. Together with his friend Richardson, he tries to shed light on these machinations.
