Plot Summary:A documentary that explores the life styles of various otakus in Japan. Various interviews are given to selected otakus who express how interesting it is to be an otaku as oppose to not being one at all. Along with various shots of various Japanese city landscapes and the inside of an average otaku home from rooms filled with videos, models, and the latest in technology.
A look, during the bubble years at Japan's obsessive outcasts. From years of hindsight, they almost seem normal at this stage, and some, arguably wouldn't be considered otaku anymore by today's standards. Not that they have gone mainstream, but their manias don't seem so odd today, and with a burst bubble, the population of otaku has probably contracted as well.
