Plot Summary:Pierre Luigi Farnice, after being made Duke of Parma and Pacienza, proves such a tyrant that the populace rises up against him, and they kill the duke in his palace, in spite of the resistance of the guards and courtiers. The murder is brought about through the court jester in revenge for the suicide of a girl, who had been betrayed by the duke.
