Plot Summary:After accidentally witnessing a mafia hit in the Windy City, gal pals Connie and Carla skip town for L.A., where they go way undercover as singers working the city's dinner theater circuit ... as drag queens. Now, it's not enough that they become big hits on the scene; things get extra-weird when Connie meets Jeff -- a guy she'd like to be a woman with.
康妮（妮娅·瓦达拉斯 Nia Vardalos 饰）和卡拉（托妮·科莱特 Toni Collette 饰）是感情十分要好的好朋友，两人出生在同一座小镇之上，彼此之间十分亲密。两个女孩有着共同的梦想，就是成为大明星，可是，在小镇上，并没有多少人懂得欣赏她们组成的合唱乐队。一次偶然中，康妮和卡拉成为了一场凶杀案的目击证人，因而遭到了凶手的追杀，无奈之下，她们隐姓埋名逃到了洛杉矶，决定在这里展开新的生活。 很快，两个姑娘就在洛杉矶找到了落脚的地方，她们女扮男装假装成男同性恋，在同性恋酒吧里进行表演，令人意外的是，两人竟然一炮而红，随着她们的名气越来越大，麻烦也越来越多。
