火烧摩天楼:剧情介绍
Plot Summary:Doug Roberts, Architect, returns from a long vacation to find work nearly completed on his skyscraper. He goes to the party that night concerned he's found that his wiring specifications have not been followed and that the building continues to develop short circuits. When the fire begins, Michael O'Halleran is the chief on duty as a series of daring rescues punctuate the terror of a building too tall to have a fire successfully fought from the ground.
建筑设计师道格（保罗•纽曼 Paul Newman 饰）在自己设计的旧金山摩天大楼竣工之际，希望抛开工作，开始计划已久的远行，然而此时，主仓库传来了报警信号，在大楼指挥中心哈里协助下，道格查明保险终端柜没有绝缘保护，而整栋大楼的电路都远没有达到自己的设计要求。大楼建筑商邓肯和女婿罗杰为了节省建筑成本，降低了大楼防火规格。邓肯和一班各界名流齐聚于135层的舞厅庆祝大楼落成，电路系统不堪负荷终于引发明火，道格和前来灭火的消防队长迈克（史蒂夫•麦奎因 Steve McQueen 饰）力劝邓肯疏散人群。消防设施不完善的摩天楼火势很快难以控制，道格、哈里以及迈克的消防队员们各尽所能救援人群，但汹涌的大火，似乎要吞噬一切……
