One night George visits the place and she recognizes him. She pleads for his love. He scorns her. She has him followed and sends him a letter threatening to denounce him. He decides to plead to her. The young couple goes home to await the officers, who go first to Cora and find her a maniac; the excitement has been too much for her. They go to George who clasping his wife in his arms is awaiting arrest. To their surprise the officers tell them the department has decided to pay no attention to the charge of a maniac and leave.
