Plot Summary:For the successful scientist Nela, work and private life are not a contradiction in terms. The renowned primate researcher plans to travel to Africa soon for her new project. Her marriage to the lawyer Josch, who fights with great commitment against the unjustified deportation of asylum seekers, is still harmonious. The surprising accidental death of Josch's ex-girlfriend Rosanna puts the well-rehearsed couple before an unexpected test. The deceased leaves behind her 14-year-old daughter Aimée, who is severely traumatized after the traffic accident and does not speak. The grandparents are hopelessly overwhelmed with the unpredictable youth. Over Nela's head, Josh decides that Aimée will move in with them. Although Nela never wanted children, she does her best to get hold of the closed teenager. Aimée does not thank her for these efforts. On the contrary, the girl seeks the love of her foster father and uses every opportunity to undermine Nela's influence. Disappointed by Josch, who does not notice Aimée's perfidious game, Nela withdraws. When Josch Aimées finally discovers fraud, a dispute ensues, as a result of which the foster daughter runs away. Nela and Josch only have one chance to find the unstable teenager: They have to pull together again.
