偏僻村庄正在热热闹闹地举办一场葬礼，去世的老人是上届村长老王的老伴刘老太，风光的葬礼背后却另有隐情。为了让儿子竞选村长又不想把老伴火葬的老王想出偷尸代替刘老太火化的主意。一切看似顺利结束时一场意外打破这一平静，躺在棺材里的刘老太在老王想要偷偷下葬时意外的复活，一场荒诞的悲喜剧由此展开……There's a long history about China's funeral system, due to the reason that almost every traditional Chinese strictly hold a religious belief deep in their mind that the dead should always be honored and respected. However, now in the modern society, the newly carried-out policy of mandatory cremation done by the government might choose to ignore people's conventional views from a very large extent in order to reach the demand of modernized social development. So it is the relevant news that happened after gave me the inspiration and motivation of creating this script and film. Meantime I hope I can probe into its deeper side to figure out what on earth is the cause for this tough situation through writing this story. When dealing with this kind of serious theme, the first thing came to my mind was to use the narrative pattern of black comedy, using a story that seems absurd but actually reflects the existing problems of reality. The regular arrangements of the plots are also unfolding around illusion and jocosity. The arranged plots in this story about Liu's death have exposed the ugliness sides of humanity. The mayor, Old Wang and Gao, they all are the killers and the ones to be blamed for Liu's death. It is their contempt for life and the temptation for power that had driven Liu to end her life eventually in a heart-wrenching way.
